Please Visit V-GO's Anzac Tours Site
Our experience
We operate tours to the Gallipoli battlefields
every day of the year, in fact, we even have a
branch office near Gallipoli at Canakkale. Every
year since 1997, we are one of the biggest tour
operators for ANZAC Day. Our head tour guides
are the best Gallipoli tour guides and will
brief and train our 50 or so other licensed
guides that we need to employ for ANZAC Day.
Get a good
spot at the dawn service
Following the afternoon
tour of the Gallipoli battlefields, we go
straight to the site of the dawn service to get
a good comfortable spot on the grass near the
front, by 9pm the grass areas is full and people
are squashing in up the back, around the sides,
wherever they can fit not a comfortable way
to spend the night.
Your price
guarantee
If you want the cheapest ANZAC Day tour then you
are picked up the wrong brochure but just
consider one thing are you really going to
risk your once in a lifetime ANZAC experience
for less than the cost of a good night out? We
wont give you something for nothing, but we
guarantee to deliver what you paid for.
Responsible
travel
When you travel with
V-GO you can be sure you are putting something
back into the local Turkish economy - our head
office is in Fethiye.
Your peace of
mind
V-GO Travel holds a
Group A TURSAB (Turkish Tourism Authority)
license, which offers you, the client, maximum
peace of mind.
Want to see
Turkey at your own pace on a budget?

hop-on hop-off pass around Western Turkey. We
recommend our 5 day Cadet tour that gets you to
Kusadasi, before hopping on a Silk Trail pass
which covers all the highlights of Western
Turkey. If you are on a really tight budget then
jump on the first V-GO bus departure to get you
to the dawn service.

Get the most
out of your experience
There are probably 3 or 4 great Gallipoli tour
guides in the whole of Turkey so if a company
tells you that their tour guides are Gallipoli
experts, well, you decide the truth? The fact
is, most Turks have never heard of ANZAC Cove.
Do some reading about Gallipoli before you come
for ANZAC Day and you have a far greater
appreciation of the commemoration. Also remember
that ANZAC Day is a huge event and every year
things just go wrong. Don let a cold cup of
tea dampen your ANZAC spirit of commemoration.
ANZAC Day
snapshot, whats it like at Gallipoli?
After the guided tour of the Gallipoli
battlefields the stories, the trenches, the
grave yards - you will possess a much deeper
appreciation of what happened at Gallipoli. At
the end of the Battlefields tour around 5pm, you
are taken to the site of the dawn service and
given a huge bag of food; sandwiches, biscuits,
chocolates, drinks and more. The local Turks
also sell a great variety of Turkish Kebabs,
pancakes and fast hot foods.
We arrive at the dawn
service around 5pm to get a good spot on the
grass, already, there are several hundred people
about. There are big screens and music to
entertain you and to thank you, the people who
have made the pilgrimage to Gallipoli for ANZAC
Day. War veterans, military personal and media
are everywhere and the atmosphere is electric.
There is a unique feeling in the air, a
celebration of peace subdued by a cloud of
commemoration.
Within 3 hours, the site will appear like
a sea of colour with thousands of Aussies and
Kiwi' s sprawling out on the grass, warmly
wrapped up in sleeping bags, National flags and
rugby tops. Get a few hours rest/sleep on the
grass because by 9pm the MC will be asking you
to squash forward to try and make space for the
thousands more people still to come.

THE ODE OF
REMEMBRANCE
They shall not grow old,
as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
The shores of Gallipoli are intensely
significant to Australians and New Zealanders,
and in recent decades they've seen a real
healing and reconciliation between Australia,
New Zealand and Turkey.
Every year on ANZAC Day thousands of
Australians make a pilgrimage to the place now
known as ANZAC Cove.
V-GO Travel's ANZAC
Day tours range from 5 to 15 days and cater for
the very budget to the easy traveller. Whether
you only want to commemorate ANZAC Day at
Gallipoli or you want to combine ANZAC Day with
an unforgettable trip around Turkey, we've got
it covered.
Ataturk
Reconciliation statement.
THOSE HEROES
THAT SHED THEIR BLOOD
AND LOST THEIR LIVES... YOU ARE
NOW LYING IN THE SOIL OF A FRIENDLY
COUNTRY. THEREFORE REST IN PEACE.
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE
JOHNNIES AND MEHMET TO US
WHERE THEY LIE SIDE BY SIDE HERE IN
THIS COUNTRY OF OURS... YOU, THE
MOTHERS, WHO SENT THEIR SONS FROM
FARAWAY COUNTRIES WIPE AWAY YOUR
TEARS; YOUR SONS ARE NOW LYING IN
OUR BOSOM AND ARE IN PEACE. AFTER
HAVING LOST THEIR LIVES ON THIS LAND
THEY HAVE BECOME OUR SONS AS WELL.'
MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATURK (1881-1938)
Founder and first president of
modern Turkey and leader of Turkish forces in
the Gallipoli campaign. The words above is
Ataturk tribute to those Anzacs who did not
return from Gallipoli.
